Defined as diseases and infections transmitted from animals to man

Characterized by hydrophobia and defined as an acute, highly fatal viral disease of central nervous system, caused by Lyssavirus type I

A zoonotic disease of warm blooded animals – bats, monkeys, raccoons, foxes, cattle, wolves, coyotes, dogs, mongoose or cats.

Transmitted to man by bites or licks of rabid animals.
Variable IP, short illness leading to encephalomyelitis leading to death.
